Wine information
2013 was a chaotic vintage. The winter was cold and wet and lasted into May. In April, May and June there was around 250 mm of rainfall each, almost twice as much as usual. The flowering therefore ended only on 26 June and many small blossoms were bent by the rain. In the vineyard the team invested a lot of work and applied many teas and silicate preparations. Then it suddenly became beautiful and July was a dream month, at least for the trapets on the Côte de Nuits. Quite in contrast to the Côte Beaune where there was a heavy hailstorm on July 23, which affected about 1,400 hectares of vines in the Côte de Beaune. The trapets have suffered from hail for this in other years. The vines slowly developed towards perfection in the autumn. On October 9, the Chambertin was harvested.
Color
dark cherry-red
Nose
The 2013 Chambertin Grand Cru combines in the first moment in the glass a touch of agriculture, so a little BoardWith notes of undergrowth, raspberries, red currants, dark flowers, licorice, menthol and a little green tea to a complex overall impression. This Brett tone then also disappears quickly and the wine appears pure, dark, powerful and very typical of the vineyard. With warmth more and more cherry, wild berry, stone and a little salt are found. All this forms an almost irresistible overall impression in the fragrance.
Palate
On the palate, the wine shows a great balance of concentration and complexity, sensual silky elegance and seething energy. The Chambertin is spicy and dark with lots of menthol and juicy fruit, salty minerality and a finely chiselled acidity. This is not a loud, but highly coherent and yet powerful in itself. ChambertinThis is a wine that already has a long finish and yet still seems so youthful that one can be sure, not least because of the quality of the tannins and the acidity, that it has a great future ahead of it.
