Information about the wine:
It was only in 2006 that brothers Romain and Damien Bouchard built Domaine de l'enclos. Their vineyards largely originate from their parents' family estate, formerly known as Domaine Pascal Bouchard. Since 2007, they have been running these estates with a clear focus on organic farming. The special feature is the 0.67ha plot, which was already planted by their grandfather in 1964. It is located in the historic area of the Grand Cru site Les Clos, facing Chablis town, and benefits from warm, south-western sunlight.
The shine of its golden yellow, refined by a hint of green reflections, makes this wine a fine appearance.
The aromas of the 2020 Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos from Domaine l'Enclos unfold hesitantly at first, carried by its youthful freshness. After energetic decanting, a subtle range of scents unfolds, integrating notes of apple, lemon, thin pear skin, angelica and aniseed, rounded off with hints of flint and cool pebble. It almost seems as if the fragrance and the spirit of the sea meet here.
This Chablis touches the palate in a harmonious balance between delicacy and finesse. It arouses an immediate salivation and its fruitiness reveals aromas of fresh apple and lemon that give it liveliness and dynamism. Despite its delicacy and elegance, it offers remarkable length and depth and excellent potential for successful ageing in the years to come. Be sure to decant before drinking. Optimal development is achieved when it is served in large-bellied Burgundy glasses.
