Bourgogne blanc “Les Femelottes” AOC 2020

The Chavy-Chouet estate brings together two families from two villages in the Côte d'Or who have been growing grapes for seven generations. After his training at the viticultural school and several years of worldwide experience in viticulture and winemaking, Romaric Chavy has given the domaine a new face. Since 2006, he has been in charge of the 15-hectare estate with top vineyard sites in Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Saint-Auban, Volnay and Pommard. 

From the simple Burgundy to the village sites and the Premier Crus, all plots are cultivated with the same care and respect for nature.

The Les Femelottes vineyard is located on the edge of the village of Puligny-Montrachet. The vines of the three hectare site are on average 40 years old, with a vine density of 10,000 vines/ha on clay and sandy soils. The wine was aged for 10 months with 10% of new wood.

The nose of the 2020 Les Femelottes Bourgogne blanc from Chavy-Chouet marks a modern style with youthfully accessible fruit. The ageing is discreet in the background, white flowers and yellow stone fruit are underpinned by notes of wet river pebbles and some citrus. Uncomplicated and joyful in the best sense.

On the nose, it combines its juicy, yellow fruit with the floral notes of the nose to create a joyful sip without airs and graces. With a clearly defined direction of flow, it also combines the sloppy fruit with floral aromas and subtle mineral impressions on the palate, which are framed by the skilful use of wood. Pour and drink is the simple equation here and proves that Burgundy can also be suitable for everyday use.
