The 0.8 ha vineyard "Moulin aux Moines" in Auxey-Duresses is one of the four monopoly sites of the Domaine. It was planted in the early 2000s and is located at 298m on a north/north-east exposure.
The vineyard is located on the border of Meursault and thus has a similar terroir, characterized by marl and limestone.
Information on the expansion
Hand harvest with a yield of 30-35 hl/ha, fermentation in barriques for 12-15 months, of which 0-5 % new, 1800 bottles total production.
Sparkling golden yellow.
The 2017 Auxey-Duresses Clos du Moulin aux Moines convinces with density and charm. Malty and smoky notes of hazelnut and toasted almond mingle with apricot, mango, orange zest, and brioche spread with salty butter and honey.
On the palate, a juicy fruit with fine mineral notes and fresh hints of citrus and citrus zest unloads. Fullness and saltiness combine with a lot of pressure and end in a long and animating finish.
Enjoy not too cold from a Burgundy glass.
