Wine information

The Champagne is a 100 %iger Meunier from Vandières in the Vallée de la Marne. These are grapes from the Lieut-dits La Perchotte and La Forzie with chalky marly, chalky, clayey and sandy subsoil. Vinification takes place in 400-litre tonneaux. No malolactic fermentation is undertaken. The champagne received the tirage 04/2020 and the dégorgement 03/2022. It does not receive any dosage.

Nose

The Arietis offers a creamy fragrance of a still slightly warm shokupan spread with vanilla butter and lemon curd. There are also notes of mandarin, a little Cointreau and white tea. Despite the Cointreau note, the champagne appears bright and clear.

Palate

On the palate, Alexis Leconte ensures an impressive precision between bright fruit and brilliant pressure on the palate in all his champagnes. This is also the case here. A little smoke mingles with the citrus notes and those of some pome fruit, Cape gooseberry and hop shoots. Like a freshly sharpened Damascus knife, the acidity is elegant, sharp and extremely effective at the same time. Again you have the notes of fresh yeast bread, some vanilla, toast and citrus with a hint of white tea. There is also a pleasant saltiness in the finish.
