Wine information

The Vazart-Coquart »82/14« Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru comes from Grand Cru sites in Chouilly. The average age of the Chardonnay vines there is 43 years. The vines are deeply rooted in belemnite chalk. The winery was in conversion to sustainable and organic viticulture. The first certified organic harvest took place in 2020. This Champagne comes exclusively from the Réserve perpétuelle, i.e. from a solera that was started in 1982, of which 40 % are used and refilled every year. The last refilling took place in 2014, when the base wine for this Champagne was taken - therefore »82/14«. The base wine was fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and underwent malolactic fermentation. The bottles were filled in March 2016 and the wine was disgorged. Champagne in December 2020 with 2.5 gram dosage.

Nose

The »82/14«  offers a silky soft feel on the nose that is supremely elegant and classy. The blanc de blancs offers the finest brioche with almond crème, vanilla crescents and lime blossom, as well as a crème of Amalfi lemons, cedrat and yuzu, fern and wet leaves.

Palate

The palate shows the typical of a Réserve wine with a ripe fruit and notes of pastry. This is charming and inviting. But at the same time, the »82/14« chalky, slightly tart with citrus notes, but also with some redcurrants and an impressively coherent, silky yet pressurising acidity. Finally, the Grand Cru Champagne with aromas of mocha, light chocolate and hazelnuts, but retains its mineral tension until the end.
