  • 🎨 Colour: Light yellow with a silver rim, a glow that captures the lightness.
  • 👃 Flavour: A clear aroma of whitecurrant, grapefruit, brook mint and elderflower, underlaid with river pebbles and lime blossom - a fresh spring day in a glass.
  • 👅 Flavour: A discipline of crystalline acidity and juicy extract, adorned with notes of cassis and grapefruit as well as a saline undertone and cool finish.
  • 🎭 Character: A Sauvignon Blanc that redefines the grape variety with minimalist precision and crystalline clarity, moving away from lush yellow fruitiness in favour of streamlined elegance.
  • 🍽️ Food recommendation: It nestles against the flavours of salad with goat's cheese, figs and nuts, elevates pasta with fig leaf oil and prawns and harmoniously accompanies a smoked chicken with pineapple coleslaw and jalapeño salsa.
  • ✨ Special features: Harvested from the gentle slopes of Lieben Aich near Terlan, a masterful presentation of the terroir, shaped by warm spring days and a balanced summer, skilfully brought to perfection in wood.

Tasting note from from 10.12.2023, Copyright Sebastian Bordthäuser

The grapes for the Tannenberg come from the Terlan site Lieben Aich, a south-western slope at 300m above sea level with soils of sandy loam on weathered prophyry. The Tannenberg 2020 could already be harvested on 25 August thanks to the warm spring and balanced summer. The destemmed grapes underwent a twelve-hour maceration period before being pressed. Fermented spontaneously in wood, the wine was matured on the fine lees for nine months.

Color

Light yellow with silver tapered rim.

Nose

Crystalline, polished and clear, the 2022 Tannenberg Sauvignon blanc from Manincor offers an unadorned and very restrained version of a Sauvignon blanc, especially when viewed in a South Tyrolean context. Whitecurrant, grapefruit zest, brook mint and elderflower mingle with wet river pebbles and lime blossom. Highly defined and reduced to the essentials, the Tannenberg offers a stringently reduced reading of the grape variety.

Mouth

The Tannenberg is also disciplined and restrained on the palate, without the usual yellow-fruity fat on the already slender hips. The ripe acidity gives it a crystalline polish, underpinned by juicy extract and fine fruit. Extremely dry with a delicate tannin entry, it oscillates aromatically between cassis and grapefruit with a saline undertone and cool finish.
