Handpicked, selective, foot trodden grapes, maceration, spontaneous fermentation, in wooden barrels, long full yeast storage.
Color
Pale yellow with delicate silvery reflections.
Nose
The freshness of the 2020 Riesling VDP estate wine jumps out of the glass. Green apple, citrus, grapefruit and apple peel make the start, slate and earthy notes emerge beautifully after a longer opening. It is almost flirtatious and tempts you to taste it immediately, an elegant seducer.
Palate
On the tongue, it beguiles with fine and at the same time very harmonious acidity, fine fruit and fruit sweetness. Minerality and salty hints are already wonderfully present in Kai Schätzel's entry-level wine. Restrained and elegant dishes with fine spicy and herbal nuances love this Riesling, which convinces with clear direction and precision.
