Info about the wine
From a small parcel with very old vines within the Falkenlay in the Marienburg in Pünderich.
Color
Brilliant and intense golden yellow.
Nose
The 2016 Riesling Marienburg Große Lage "Raffes" presents itself with opulence of sweet peach, blossom honey, quince, candied lemon and salted caramel. Smoky slate notes included. Still far too young to be opened, yet it holds so much power, complexity and development potential.
Palate
On the palate, this complex Riesling surprises with a wonderful sweetness-acidity interplay that makes it seem almost dry. An incredibly powerful and at the same time elegant wine. It demands not only the carafe and a lot of oxygen as well as large glasses, but also the patience of its taster.
