Wine information
This wine comes from more than 90-year-old Riesling vines in classic single vine training from the Pünderich Marienburg Falkenlay Felsterrasse. The exposed site is characterised by grey slate. It is considered Clemens Busch's favourite parcel. The grapes are pressed slowly as whole clusters after a short maceration period. Clemens Busch's wines are all fermented spontaneously and slowly and mature for at least two years in large barrels.
Color
medium straw yellow
Nose
The nose of Clemens Busch's Riesling Marienburg "Felsterrasse" 2020 suggests a subtle and cool wine, which is pure, bright, mineral and with a considerable underlying power. Everything seems firmly wrought, yet luminous in the aromatics of citrus fruits, green pome fruits, pure citrus, stone and herbs, some wax and lanolin, a hint of pear cream and smoke.
Palate
On the palate, this Great Growth with great depth and precision, juiciness and melting, a whole orchard of crunchy fruits, spices and herbs, some white currants and lots of slate spice. There is already a pervasive salinity and a pulsating minerality that, together with the acidity, provides a lot of tension. Nevertheless, the wine is still driven by sight, the GG is still very young and its great time is still ahead of it. But with a carafe and a little time, one can hardly escape the fascination of the wine even now.
