Color
Light lemon yellow with green reflexes and silver tapered rim.
Nose
The nose of the 2016 Im Sonnenschein Riesling Großes Gewächs from Ökonomierat Rebholz is fresh and citrusy. Zest and orange oil are complemented by mirabelle plums and white peach, with a floral top note reminiscent of lilac and lemon balm gently hovering over all of this. The shell limestone lays a solid foundation and smells like an old road after a warm summer rain.
Mouth
On the nose, it shows its polished side. The long, curved acidity sets the gustatory sail and the wine quickly picks up speed. With a cool finish and fine tannin, it is sleekly contoured with high agility on the palate. The youthful verve of its current state is more prophecy than status quo chiseled in stone A few years of bottle aging always bring out the best in Rebholz's wines.
