Local knowledge
The name of the "Lene" of the Pfingstbach stream is the name given to the area where the vines are located on a gentle south-western slope at the edges of a stream valley. The fertile, loamy loess is interspersed with red quartz veins with a high iron content, which led to the name "Eiserberg" as the old field name of the Lenchen and refers to the geological characteristics. Early mists of the Pfingstbach facilitate the occurrence of Botrytis Cinerea - a perfect booster for the creation of high-quality sweet wines.
Vinification
The wine was fermented spontaneously and matured in stainless steel tanks.
Visual appearance
A vivid radiant gold with subtle green reflections.
Fragrance profile
The 2020 Riesling Lenchen Auslese is an irresistible wine that releases sweet aromas of vineyard peach, sugar-coated lime, passion fruit, candied ginger and floral honey through its bouquet. One could almost think that this sweet drop is floating in the air and the temptation to taste its delightful fragrance is considerable.
Taste experience
On the tongue, the delightful fruit of the fragrance unfolds, together with the sweetness and multi-faceted brilliant acidity. A dessert wine that dances despite its low alcohol content. A perfect treat with a dessert or cheese or just to dream and indulge on its own!
Culinary recommendations
Try a lemon mousse on a sauce of orange and lemongrass, or a curd soufflé with rhubarb and ginger. Tartlets of Fourme d'Ambert, white chocolate and pineapple also provide an exciting combination. Why not a citrus panna cotta instead, or a fluffy cheesecake with tart rhubarb compote? For extravagant flavour, consider a dessert of blue cheese, white chocolate and pineapple.
