Wine information
The Champagne is a 100 %iger Pinot Noir from the 2014 vintage. The vineyards of Champagne Louise Brison are located at around 320 metres above sea level and are characterised by Kimmeridge limestone and marl with a layer of clay - similar to neighbouring Chablis. The base wine was fermented in barrique and the blend was brought together in stainless steel. The wine was disgorged with zero grams of dosage in October 2022.
Color
Light golden yellow with a slight copper tinge and fine perlage
Nose
The 2014 Pinot Noir de la Côte des Bar smells of ripe citrus fruits of various colours including grated and partly candied zest. There is also a hint of candied ginger and laurel. Basically, the champagne seems pleasantly cool, and even the patisserie notes carry something rather cool. Some red berries and a little red apple are reminiscent of Pinot Noir.
Palate
On the palate, the 2014 Pinot Noir de la Côte des Bar lots of citrus fruit, ranging from a crisp yellow lemon to tangerines, pomelo and kumquats. There is also a hint of sweet lemon candy. There are also a few red berries. The Kimmerdige lime provides a lot of tension and a punchy energetic acidity as well as a concise salinity in the finish, which in turn is responsible for a high drinking flow.
