Champagne Larmandier-Bernier Longitude Premier Cru Extra Brut
Wine
This exquisite Blanc de Blancs is based on choice Chardonnay vines from the premier cru vineyards of Vertus, Oger, Avize and Cramant. The seductive Longitude presents itself as a skilful blend of slightly different wines from up to nine vintages, with 40% consisting of older reserves. The expert ageing process of more than two years on its lees, followed by the removal of the lees and a minimal dosage of four grams, underlines the masterful craftsmanship that goes into this creation.
Color
The visual experience begins with a pretty, bright gold hue and a vibrant mousse that entices you to drink.
Nose
As soon as the wine is opened to smell, it reveals a rich aromatic palette. Elegant and perfectly balanced in its complexity, it seduces the nose with fine spicy notes, underpinned by brioche, white flowers, stone and stone fruit, citrus notes and a chalky component. These elements come together coherently and stimulatingly, resulting in a complete olfactory delight.
Palate
On the palate, the Longitude presents itself incredibly generous and lush, so that one can hardly believe that the dosage is moderately low. Despite its amazing maturity, the wine remains dry, dynamic, clear, fresh, precise and elegant. The yellow citrus fruits are prominent, accompanied by the hint of herbal spice. The acidity balances the opulence of the reserve wines and creates a remarkable tension between the ripe, deep, expansive and the young, precise and simple Côte des Blancs Chardonnay. Most remarkable is the long, deep, harmonious and accomplished finish, after which one appreciates the name "Longitude".
