Color
The wine shows itself in bright golden yellow clear and shiny in the glass.
Nose
With its first aroma, this wine made from 50% Xarel-lo and 50% Malvasia de Sitges flies over autumnal grain fields full of wheat, barley and spelt. The warming scent of dried grain and a hint of malt are refreshed by fruity notes of guava, tangerine zest and young, fresh corn, as well as the floral scent of peonies and an itty-bitty blob of natural yoghurt with apricot.
Palate
The 2018 Istiu from Enric Soler appears on the palate with the clarity of a mountain stream. In a tailor-made ideal line, it literally celebrates its drink and yet it is more created than made. With subtle power and emphasis, it leaves a long-lasting freshness on the palate, with moderate yet vitalizing acidity, as otherwise only the neutralizing herbal fennel candy after the meal at the Indian can do.
Food recommendations from Peter Müller
- Grilled aubergines with quail beans, tarragon and pomegranate seeds
- Chicken leg from the oven with cucumber-chili relish and saffron risotto
- Scallops au gratin with Kalamta olives, celery and fennel brittle
