Color
Sparkling golden yellow.
Nose
The 2014 Corton smells slightly smoky and fruity. Aromas of quince, stewed pears, apple sauce and apple peel combine with delicate vanilla notes and some wood smoke. Discreet herbs, like sage and mint give the whole a fresh touch. The skilful and fine wood ageing seems discreet and elegant already in the nose pleasantly.
Palate
The discreet character of the 2014 Corton is confirmed on the tongue with juicy fruit, fine acidity and delicately spicy tannin structure. A coherent wine, which succeeds optimally to combine power and finesse, perfect companion to the classic French cuisine.
Recommendation
If you want to open it in its youthful stage, you would be well advised to decant it 2-3 hours in advance and enjoy it from a large Burgundy glass.
