Information about wine
As Hard is the name given to the core of the Ölberg site in Königsbach around the Ölberg chapel. In 2013, the parcel was designated as VDP.Great Site classified. Until this vintage, the auction wine came from the oldest part of the vineyard. Now, the younger vines have also reached a good age, so that the Christmanns can produce a wine from the entire vineyard. Riesling GG can produce. The soil, like that of the Idig, is characterised by tertiary limestone marl, the so-called terra fusca, which is mixed with red sandstone rubble in the topsoil. The Riesling was harvested on 17.9.2020 at 40 hl/ha. It was left on the skins for between three and six hours, fermented spontaneously until 15.11. and matured in large double barrels. It was bottled in July 2021.

Nose
The 2020s Ölberg-Hart rests just as much in itself as the Idig. It appears fresh and juicy with bright, light peach and apricot fruit, a little smoke, graphite and flint.
Palate
On the palate, the wine is a little rounder and warmer at first, but then tart, stony, slightly iodine-like, citrusy with acidity and pressure on the palate, which already makes Christmann's wines seem very coherent and clear.
Food recommendations by Christoph Raffelt
- Rockfish with cauliflower in three varieties, bacon and coriander seed vinaigrette
- Veal tartare with kohlrabi, yellow tomatoes and smoked beurre blanc
- Spinach and chanterelles with egg yolk and elderberry
