Wine information
The Chenin Blanc comes from still young vines from a vineyard near Caudiès de Fenouillèdes that has been cultivated organically since 2007. Loam, limestone and some slate predominate there. Harvested with a yield of around 30 hl/ha, the Chenin was then pressed as whole grapes and fermented spontaneously. The wine was then aged briefly in concrete tanks on the fine lees and bottled unfiltered with little sulphur.
Color
medium straw yellow
Nose
At Chenin by Majas it's hard to believe that the vines here are so far south. It appears pleasantly cool and bright with notes of lemons and limes, some crisp green pear and green plum. In addition, there is a slight nuttiness and a discreet stoniness.
Palate
On the palate the Chenin by Majas equally bright and clear with an impressively fresh citric acidity that, together with the immediate onset of saltiness, is mouthwatering. This is a wine with a lot of energy and tonic aspects.
