Color:
Sparkling golden yellow
Nose:
The nose clearly separates the bulk of German Rieslings from Alsace: ripe yellow fruits like apricots, mirabelles and juicy peaches, partially cooked down and caramelized in their effect. Some cardamom and fresh ginger make themselves broad. Also the grating of a cinnamon stick and a little blossom honey. Also delicately smoky hints can be detected. That reminds a little of Tarte Tatin. In the further course also candied pineapple and some butter pastry sound.
Palate:
On the palate, the 2018 Turckheim Riesling is lively and yellow-fruited. The ripe stone fruit is full in the glass. The spices underpin this sophisticated. Light toasty aromas and honey resonate. The finish is accompanied by a delicate melting and notes of tobacco and ginger become perceptible. Above all, it is punchy and cool. The vitality in this wine is enormous.
