Info about the wine
Our property of about 0.50 hectares is located on the southern slope of the Roche de Solutré at an altitude of about 300 meters. The view is magnificent and the clay-limestone soils here are particularly red. With these small grapes, we can fully exploit the potential of this terroir, which is probably classified as 1er Cru.
Color
Medium bright golden yellow.
Nose
The 2017 Pouilly-Fuissé Climat "Au Vignerais" appears very compact on the nose. Lots of cool minerality of mussel shells, sea salt, iodine and sea breeze meets toast, some butter, flint and animating notes of kindling. The fine fruit only reveals itself to us with the necessary oxygen - so off into the carafe with the fine drop.
Palate
Fresh fruit of grapefruit, apple and especially citrus enlivens the palate. A stringent mineral vein runs across the tongue, revealing a perfect interplay of fruit, saltiness and acidity. Despite its open nature, it still hides a lot in itself due to its youthfulness and will improve over the next few years. Those who already want to enjoy it at the moment would do well to fall back on purist partners.
Recommendation
Enjoy decanted, not too cold from a large glass.
