Info about the wine:
90 % Tempranillo and 10 % Graciano from 25 to 40 year old vines. Cool pre-fermentation for 24 hours at four to six degrees Celsius. Fermentation in large open wood fermenters, ageing for 25 months in new barriques, of which 95 % French, 5 % American oak.
Color:
Dense violet-red, almost dense in colour to the rim
Nose:
The 2013 Fincas de Ganuza Reserva smells intensely of dark sweet berries, black cherries, peat, wood smoke, dark noble chocolate and roasted rosemary. What a wealth of impressions and intensity for a wonderfully matured entry-level wine with expression and complexity from Remirez de Ganuza.
Palate:
Sweet and powerful it runs over the tongue with accentuated and at the same time ripe tannin and a refreshing acidity. The dark fruit of the nose comes to bear beautifully on the palate. Optimal drop to the grill season and autumnal preparations with meat and poultry.
