Wine information
The Miranius is named after a fox that is often found in the vineyards of Celler Credo. The wine, made from the Xarel-lo grape variety, comes from the high altitudes of Alto Penedès, more precisely from Plana del Penedès, Muntanyes de l'Ordal and Vall de Bitlles . The Miranius was fermented spontaneously to less than one gram of residual sugar after an extended maceration period, it was not fined, not filtered, and no sulphur was added.
Color
Platinum yellow with light copper reflections
Nose
The 2021s Miranius smells like a basket of fresh mirabelles, apples and quinces, grapefruits, hop shoots and some honeydew melon. There are also tart herbal and rocky notes and a little sweet yeast scent. The fruit combines with a note of dried hay and a spiciness that indicates a somewhat longer mash time.
Palate
On the palate, the wine is initially delicate, fine and silky. Then it becomes increasingly juicy with an underlying agile tactile acidity and plenty of salt, fine tannin and extract. The initially shy Xarel-lo starts to shine and becomes more serious and expressive with air. An excellent wine at this price!
