Color:
Bright pale yellow with lime green reflections.
Nose:
The nose of Remírez de Ganuza's 2016 Rioja blanco bristles with opulent fruit bouqeuts in woven baskets in stately regalia. Ripe apricots, reenclodes and vineyard peaches blow full fruit ahead, with a bit of new French oak and a few dried culinary herbs flanking the fruity, joyful conglomerate. Pear skins and the oil of grapefruit zest complete the roundup.
Mouth:
Creamy on the nose with great inner density and exuberant melting. The wood nestles with submissive attitude to the back palate and balances the opulent fruit cascades. The cuvée of Viura and Malvasia is supported by everything else that grows in the vineyard. Fermented in new French wood, it ages there on its lees for 10 months before bottling. Expressive with good phenolic contour in the finish. A carafe, big glasses and a few years of bottle maturity are good for him.
