Color
Delicate rosé with clear orange reflections and filigree perlage.
Nose
Generous, expansive and hedonistic, the 2014 Rosé de Maturation from Larmandier-Bernier radiates from the goblet and recalls expansive banquets of gastronomically carefree days. Its table literally bends under the weight of dried fruit - dried quince, dried figs, candied orange peel and dates as well as blood oranges, apples and cucumbers fill its fruit basket. Mild spices set oriental accents that are salinely complemented by delicate minerality. Warm pastries are served with it, biscuit instead of bread is the maxim and salted butter the means to the caramel that sweetens the rich nose.
Mouth
The Rosé de Maceration plays in the haptic Champions League right from the start. Its mousseux glitters on the palate like star dust and accelerates the drinking flow from zero to one hundred in less than four seconds. Everything seems to be in the right place and in the right proportion. The fruit is reminiscent of stewed strawberries and dried and candied fruits like vineyard peaches and prunes. Underpinned by delicate phenolics that are haptically and aromatically reminiscent of raspberry seeds, it is underpinned by fluffy cloudy brioche notes with an extract fruity finish. A great rosé that demands equal cuisine.
