Color:
Dark purple with violet reflections and black core.
Nose:
The nose of the 2009 Pomerol from Gombaude-Guillot is marked by its incisive, ripe fruit: Blueberries, black cherries, damson jam and crème de mure. There are also lightly ethereal notes of allspice, licorice and black pepper. An ethereal-balsamic veil of vanilla, delicate wood spice and dark tobacco leaf lies over the potpourri.
Mouth:
On the palate, the wine is juicy with notes of dark berry fruits and high extract sweetness. Typical for Pomerol, it has a densely woven texture and minerality. The tannins are ripe, polished and the acidity is shimmeringly fine. A dense nectar of dark fruit with a tendency to spice on the finish. The cuvée of predominantly Merlot with one part Cabernet Franc is fleshy on the palate, firm with juicy, dense fruit. Poured from the carafe, with a little air it represents its unique terroir in the immediate vicinity of Trotanoy and Le Pin. Although present now, this is a wine for the future.
