For generations, the Laval family has been growing grapes in the Champagne region in the village of Cumières, a few kilometres from Epernay. Today, Vincent Laval is at the helm of this small, exceptional business. As early as 1971, Vincent's father decided to switch to organic viticulture. He was one of the pioneers of a movement that was new at the time and which was committed to the artisanal, natural tradition. Vincent's main focus is on the vineyards and the vines, some of which are over 70 years old, a biblical age for Champagne, and which make for particularly expressive champagnes. In the "Hautes-Chèvres" vineyards, which are particularly famous for their Pinot Noir, Vincent relies on the help of a horse to work the vineyards.
