The "Blaue Libelle" is a one hundred percent Sauvignon Blanc from Southern Styria in Austria. The grapes come from the sites Czamillonber and KrepskogelThe vineyards are located 400 to 460 meters above sea level, facing southeast and south. The vines here stand on poor soils consisting of calcareous marl and opok.
After the harvest at the end of September, the grapes were fermented spontaneously in large wooden barrels (new and used). Extremely slowly and carefully - the fermentation lasted 6 to 8 months. Only then could the individual wines move for further aging. The Sauvignon spent another 18 months in large wooden barrels and was bottled only at the end of March 2019.
