The Weissburgunder Réserve is a selection of the best Weissburgunder grapes from the Wonnegau sites. With the same attention as the wines from the First and Great Sites, the grapes are harvested by hand and then fermented in three- to five-year-old, used Tonneaux. The wine matures on the fine lees until May before it is bottled.
Color
Bright yellow, luminous and clear.
Nose
With a delicate fumé note on the nose, the 2020 Weissburgunder Réserve from Battenfeld-Spanier promises flawless Weissburgunder pleasure. The wood is cleverly used and triggers the fans of the now popular reduction notes without overloading the wine with primers. Underneath all the concession to the zeitgeist, the lush, ripe Weissburgunder fruit of pome fruit, bright flowers and green almonds shines. Estate wine on steroids.
Mouth
With a juicy entry, the wine combines creamy melting on the palate with clear-as-a-bell fruit and vertical drinkability. Aromatically, the fruit is restrained, flanked by the fine phenolic of the skilful use of wood with slightly smoky notes in the top note. The acidity accelerates this conglomerate to 120 gpm .
