Provence
Provence forms the gentle but hilly transition from the southern Alps to the Côte d'Azur on the Mediterranean Sea. Picturesque and varied landscapes, which are characterized by the famous lavender plantations, olive trees, pine trees and vines. The winegrowing is mainly in the higher areas and so not only the Mediterranean Sea is a factor, but also the cool nights. Thus the wines contain freshness and elegance. Temperatures often vary by up to 20°C between day and night at the higher altitudes.
