Three new voices from Burgundy: A career-changer crafting precise Gevrey, a quiet monument with Grand Crus, and a micro-domaine proving 2.5 hectares can sing.  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Hello,

Three new arrivals from Burgundy: A career-changer from the Loire who found his fortune in Gevrey. A quiet family estate with Grand Crus. A micro-domaine showing what 2.5 hectares can sound like.

What unites them: They make wines that whisper rather than shout.

The Career-Changer: Jérôme Galeyrand

Eight years in the food industry. Then a few harvests with Alain Burguet. In 2002, the leap: 0.05 hectares in Gevrey-Chambertin. Today it's five. Jérôme Galeyrand makes wines like himself: direct, unvarnished, precise.

His Aligoté "Alligotay" shows what's possible when you take this supposedly minor grape seriously: lemon zest, green apple, a trace of sea salt. No aperitif alibi, but a wine with backbone.

The two Aligoté vineyards "Chaumont" and "Les Blanches" play in a higher league: chalk meets ripe quince, saline length meets silky texture. These are Aligotés with the complexity of a fine Chassagne.

Among the reds, the Gevrey-Chambertin "La Justice" shows where the journey leads: wild strawberry, graphite, cool spices. A Gevrey that whispers rather than shouts – and precisely for that reason, resonates longer.

The Quiet Monument: Bruno Clair

From the ruins of Clair-Daü emerged in 1986 a domaine that today counts among the references of the Côte d'Or. Bruno Clair doesn't make wines for Instagram. He makes wines for the table – and for the cellar.

The Marsannay blanc is the perfect entry point: pear, white blossoms, a hint of hazelnut. No oak makeup, pure fruit with saline drive.

The Marsannay red wine series shows the Clair DNA: The basic Marsannay rouge is juicy and precise. "Les Grasses Têtes" and "Les Longeroies" bring more depth and spice into play – dark cherries, violets, a touch of iron.

And then the Grand Crus: Chambertin-Clos de Bèze and Bonnes-Mares – monuments with quiet voices. Silky tannins, endless length, the kind of complexity that unfolds over decades.

The Micro-Masterpiece: Thomas-Collardot

2.5 hectares in Puligny-Montrachet. Thomas-Collardot needs no more to show what precision means. Jacqueline and Matthieu Collardot make Chardonnay that tastes of chalk and smells of the sea.

The Bourgogne Aligoté is a statement: citrus zest, green apple, chalky-saline finish. No byproduct, but a precise purist.

"Les Petits Poiriers" plays in a higher league: yellow citrus, quince, a fine nutty trace – a mini-Puligny that shows where the journey leads.

The Crémant de Bourgogne underlines the Collardot signature in sparkling dress: fine mousse, clear citrus fruit, white almond. Zero powdered sugar, pure transparency.
