Out of stock

The traditional organic winery Tarlant in the Vallée de la Marne offers the Zero Brut Nature, a cuvée of 32% Pinot Noir, 32% Chardonnay, 32% Pinot Meunier and 4% rare grape varieties. The nose presents an unadulterated, honest style with aromas of lemon zest, yellow apples, yeasty pastries and dried herbs. On the palate, the wine shows a precise, clear structure with cheeky acidity peaks, chalky impression, citrus freshness and maritime notes in the finish.

Info

Siblings Mélanie and Benoît Tarlant now run this traditional family vineyard in the Vallée de la Marne organically. The family has been involved in viticulture since 1687. Each of the numerous plots is vinified and vinified separately. About fifty percent of them are fermented in wooden barrels. Malolactic fermentation is deliberately avoided.

The 2014 vintage and a high proportion of reserve wines serve as the basis. The blend consists of 32% Pinot Noir, 32% Chardonnay, 32% Pinot Meunier and a total of 4% of the rare Petit Meslier, Arbanne and Pinot blanc. After almost six years in the bottle, Zero Brut Nature was disgorged in February 2021. The dosage is indicated at zero grams.

Color

Bright straw yellow with golden reflections, very lively fine bubbly perlage, long-lasting mousseux.

Nose

The nose clearly shows who is behind this pearl. This vinous style is so genuine and honest. Mélanie and Benoît Tarlant are true craftsmen and terroir captors. Its clear, precise expression combines stony, earthy hints as well as the long yeast ageing. Lemon zest, apricot and peach are well dosed next to yellow apples and are not overpowering. Discreet smoky hints show its purism. Associations with fine yeast pastries and brioche spread with plenty of butter - toasted, of course - soothe the mind. The Zero Brut Nature also reveals fine aromas of dried herbs. It is faintly reminiscent of oyster shell.

Palate

One longs for this sip from the moment it is poured. The precise, clear impression is clearly confirmed. It lives from its cheeky acidity peaks. Its stony, chalky impression comes into its own wonderfully. A breeze of salt says hello. The citrusy freshness is perfectly aromatic next to the herbal and ethereal aromas. The romantic thoughts of butter and pastries have completely evaporated on the palate. It seems taut, clear and clean without a single gram of unnecessary fat. In the aftertaste, the maritime moments are more pronounced. Wonderfully animating and demanding at the same time.
