Wine details
At an altitude of 350 m, on a mixture of volcanic and sandy soil, the grapes have imbibed their lifeblood. After spontaneous fermentation in steel barrels, the blend of Nero d'Avola, Alicante and Corinto was bottled without any fining or filtration. A real paean to sunny Sicily.
Color
The colour is a muted garnet red that lightens gently at the edges.
Nose
The 2020 Ypsilon exudes scents of a juicy, aromatic Sicilian. Dark berries, cherries, fresh rosemary and thyme merge with rosehip, tea leaves, leather and cedar. A seductive red.
Palate
Like its predecessor, it excites the taste buds with effervescent freshness and refinement. The moderate alcohol content of 12.5% and the juicy, charming fruitiness perceived on the nose blend with its bracing acidity and fine-grained, precise tannin structure to create a truly blissful drinking experience. This wine, which impresses with its spectacular value for money, is absolutely worth every penny!
Food recommendations
A rocket and tortellini salad with sun-dried tomatoes and mozzarella could be a great combination. Or try stuffed red peppers with venison mince and thyme or a grilled entrecote served with baked beetroot, currants and edible flowers.
