With single vines Doña Blanca, the vines stand at a good 600 metres above sea level on loamy soils with lime and iron content. Harvested by hand and aged on the lees in new and used 500-litre French oak barrels for 12 months.

Colour

Dark purple with black core and violet reflections.

Nose

The 2020 Sangarida Pico Tuerto smells deep and dark of black cherries, Amarena and blackberries. Despite its concentration and density, the fruit is nevertheless fresh and has no cooked notes, but steams out of the chalice juicy with transparent freshness. Dried blueberries and high-percentage dark chocolate mingle with discreet floral notes of small violets.

Mouth

Full-bodied and juicy on the nose, it has a clear structural contour. The strikingly tart fruit is surrounded by tightly woven tannins, and the aroma oscillates between fruit, dark dark chocolate and espresso foam. On the palate, it is always transparent with firm tannins, the well-integrated acidity acts nonchalantly in the background and accompanies it into the fruity, cool Atlantic finish.

Food recommendations from Sebastian Bordthäuser

Crostini with olive tapenade and tomatoes

Mullet from the tube with tomatoes, onions, black olives and capers

Braised shoulder of venison in elderberry sauce with savoy cabbage pralines and autumn trumpets

🎨 Color: Dark purple with black core and violet reflections.

👃 Aroma: Intense notes of black cherries, amarena and blackberries, complemented by dried blueberries and dark chocolate as well as subtle floral notes.

👅 Taste: Structurally clearly contoured with a strikingly tart-sweet fruit, enveloped by tightly woven tannins and flavours such as dark chocolate and espresso foam.

🎭 Character: Powerful and juicy with transparent freshness and firm tannins; well-integrated acidity accompanies the cool Atlantic finish.

🍽️ Food recommendations: Crostini with olive tapenade and tomatoes, mullet from the oven, braised shoulder of venison in elderberry sauce.

✨ Special features: 100% Mencia from ancient vineyards (1901 and 1910), aged in new and used French oak barrels on the lees.

[3447
3455,3456,3564

0":"post-89461","1":"product","2":"type-product","3":"status-publish","4":"has-post-thumbnail","6":"product_brand-sangarida","7":"product_cat-bierzo","8":"product_cat-sangarida","9":"product_cat-wochenendweine","10":"pa_farbe-rot","11":"pa_inhalt-750ml","12":"pa_jahrgang-2426","13":"pa_restsuesse-trocken","14":"pa_sorte-mencia","15":"pa_stil-naturwein","16":"pa_typ-wein","17":"show-hover","19":"first","20":"outofstock","21":"taxable","22":"shipping-taxable","23":"purchasable","24":"product-type-simple

Sangarida - Pico Tuerto 2020

<meta name="description" content="Eleganter Mencia aus Bierzo: Pico Tuerto 2020 von Sangarida begeistert mit feiner Frucht & Frische.
