In the glass, the Carignano presents itself in a deep violet-red colour with an almost black core. Only towards the rim are there subtle lighter colours, which indicate its youthful freshness.<\/p>\n
The bouquet is characterised by a remarkable coolness and precision. Dark berry fruit - Blackberries, blueberries and blackcurrants<\/strong> - dominated by an aromatic herb garden made from wild mint, sage and rosemary<\/strong>. Fine spicy notes of Allspice and black pepper<\/strong> round off the flavour profile. This Mediterranean flavour gives the wine its unmistakable Tuscan identity.<\/p>\n The cool elegance of the nose continues consistently on the palate. The rich, dark fruit is carried by perfectly ripe tannins that provide structure without dominating. Particularly noteworthy are the fine Graphite and salt notes<\/strong>, which lend the wine minerality and depth - a clear fingerprint of the proximity to the sea and the Galestro soils. The lively acidity has a stimulating effect and keeps the wine surprisingly light-footed despite its concentration. With only 12% Alcohol<\/strong> this Carignano achieves a balance that many heavier wines lack.<\/p>\n The grapes come from deeply rooted Carignano vines at an altitude of 250 metres, grown on Galestro and grey clay. The eight-month ageing in cement tanks with 20% whole bunches preserves the freshness of the fruit and gives the wine its characteristic texture.<\/p>\n A versatile companion that can be worn with Risotto with chanterelles and blackberries<\/strong> as well as to Grilled gilthead with rosemary and garlic<\/strong> fits perfectly.
