A subtle <strong>Reduction<\/strong> gives the bouquet additional complexity - typical of Morey's restrained, natural style.<\/dd>\n<dt>Palate<\/dt>\n<dd>Juicy and engaging with that light creaminess that characterises great Chassagne-Chardonnays. The texture shows <strong>phenolic presence<\/strong> without gravity, while the <strong>piquant, citric acidity<\/strong> provides tension and freshness. The wine has substance, but remains elegant and vibrant.<\/dd>\n<dt>Departure<\/dt>\n<dd>Full of energy and excitement with <strong>mouth-watering hints of salt lemon<\/strong>. The minerality carries far, the finish is precise and animating - a wine that invites you to take the next sip.<\/dd>\n<dt>Terroir &amp; origin<\/dt>\n<dd>Les Chenevottes lies to the north of Chassagne on gentle slopes between Les Macherelles and Saint-Aubin. The name refers to the hemp (chanvre) that used to be cultivated there. Morey's parcels comprise around 50 % from <strong>Les Bondues<\/strong>, 25 % off <strong>Les Combes<\/strong> and 25 % from the surrounding layer. The <strong>Loamy soil with iron oxide content<\/strong> gives the wine its characteristic tension between fullness and freshness.<\/dd>\n<dt>Grape variety &amp; vinification<\/dt>\n<dd><strong>100 % Chardonnay<\/strong>, fermented with indigenous yeasts in a combination of neutral barrels and tanks.
