What began in the late 1960s as a rescue mission of a neglected estate by the Swiss architect Wendel Gelpke has developed into one of the region's most remarkable wine stories. The Il Corzanello Bianco<\/strong> is a fascinating chapter in this story - an unconventional blend that epitomises the courage to be independent in a region that is otherwise famous for its red wines.<\/p>\n

Visual impression<\/h3>\n

In the glass, the Corzanello Bianco 2023 has a bright, straw-yellow colour with subtle greenish reflections, reminiscent of the early morning light that falls through the Tuscan olive groves. The wine's viscosity testifies to its structure and considerable alcohol content of 14%, without being heavy.<\/p>\n

Nose<\/h3>\n

The nose immediately reveals the complexity of this unusual cuv\u00e9e. The Chardonnay brings ripe yellow apples and a hint of pear, while the Petit Manseng provides exotic notes of passion fruit and candied citrus peel. The Corzanello Bianco is not a by-product, but a special concern of the winery - proof that Tuscany is capable of more than just great red wines.<\/p>\n

The grapes for this wine grow on chalky soils with clay inclusions, which give the wines a characteristic minerality. Hand-picking and gentle processing are a matter of course, as is the avoidance of excessive use of wood in order to preserve the freshness and character of the grape varieties.<\/p>\n
