Somit ist dieser Weinberg noch heute der \u00e4lteste offizielle Chardonnay-Weinberg in Rheinland-Pfalz. Da der R CHARDONNAY von Anfang an extrem erfolgreich und das Weingut von der Zukunft und dem gro\u00dfen Potenzial der Sorte sehr \u00fcberzeugt war und ist, wurden ab 1993 weitere Weinberge damit bepflanzt. Mittlerweile sind 12,5 % der gesamten Weinberge, also 3 ha, mit Chardonnay bestockt. Die Chardonnay-Reben wachsen ausschlie\u00dflich auf kalkhaltigen B\u00f6den.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h4>Information on the expansion <\/h4>\n<div>\n<p>The grapes are harvested by hand, then destemmed, crushed and gently juiced after a 24-hour maceration period. Fermentation takes place in typical Burgundian pi\u00e8ces, some of which are new, made from French and Palatinate oak. This creates an ageing style that gives the wine character, finesse and a long ageing potential. From the very beginning, Chardonnay has only been matured in these barriques at the winery. An experiment, also with Palatinate oak, that has long been a success.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h4>Colour <\/h4>\n<div>\n<p>Sparkling golden yellow.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h4>Nose <\/h4>\n<div>\n<p>Der 2022er Chardonnay \u201cR\u201d ist ein komplexer und ausdrucksvoller Wein, der sich frisch ge\u00f6ffnet noch etwas verschlossen pr\u00e4sentiert. Mit dem n\u00f6tigen Sauerstoff zeigt er seine ganze Finesse. Zarte rauchige Noten und edles Leder verbinden sich mit Zitrusfr\u00fcchten, Birne und Apfel. Seine k\u00fchle Mineralit\u00e4t wirkt \u00e4u\u00dferst verlockend und k\u00fcndigt einen beschwingten und zugleich ausdrucksstarken Wein mit burgundischer Pr\u00e4gung an.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h4>Palate <\/h4>\n<div>\n<p>Once on the palate, it fascinates with freshness, salty notes, plenty of minerality and fine fruit. It challenges the palate in a pleasant way, especially with its fine use of wood perfectly integrated into its fruit and the stimulating finish. A wonderful Chardonnay that sets standards with its profound and multi-layered structure, a true masterpiece with plenty of facets and power. The cuisine that accompanies it should be just as complex and multi-faceted as the wine itself.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>If you want to enjoy it now, you should decant it and not drink it too cold
