The Ellergrub is such a site. Perhaps less well-known than the great sites of the Middle Moselle, it has the same potential for great Moselle Rieslings. But the other sites around Traben-Trarbach, such as Steffensberg, Gaispfad and Sonnenlay, also show how diverse and unique the terroir is, as Konstantin Weiser and Alexandra K\u00fcnstler demonstrate. Organic cultivation, mostly manual labour and traditional but very gentle cellar work are a matter of course. As a result, Weiser-K\u00fcnstler produces very fine, classic and elegant Rieslings that are among the best in the region.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h4>Info about the expansion<\/h4>\n<div>\n<p>Spontaneous fermentation without the use of clarifying agents or \"fining agents\" in 1000 litre barrels, further maturation after interruption of fermentation, also in barrels.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h4>Colour<\/h4>\n<div>\n<p>Light straw yellow with clear green reflections.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h4>Nose<\/h4>\n<div>\n<p>The 2022 Enkircher Ellergrub Riesling Kabinett from Weiser K\u00fcnstler refreshes us just by smelling it. Green apple, lime, grapefruit tossed in sugar and elderflower dance out of the glass. Subtle hints of white pepper and cool slate add a stimulating touch.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h4>Palate<\/h4>\n<div>\n<p>The message is clear right from the start: it wants to stimulate us with its pronounced and precise acidity and get the saliva flowing on our tongue. Bright yellow fruits and citrus dominate it pleasantly and its sweetness rounds off the overall picture perfectly. These are the wines that are the envy of the entire wine world, slender Riesling Kabinett with a mineral expression that you want to drink in large quantities, as animating as they present themselves.
