At the age of 23, Majorie Gallet roamed the Roussillon in search of vineyards. She came across ancient Carignan vines that reminded her of the C\u00f4te R\u00f4tie, where she grew up. The Carignan grew in the middle of a black slate slope on a white quartz vein, the Roc Blanc. Renamed Roc des Anges in 2001, it became the nucleus of her estate and the Carignan of her quick fame in 1903. After eight years of running Mas Amiel in Maury by her husband St\u00e9phane, from 2008 the two agricultural engineers focused together on the ever-growing number of their old vineyard parcels, to which they added the Maurys Les Terres de Fagayra. Working biodynamically, the two are concerned with capturing their terroirs, following the motto \"The essence is in nature, the place gives the wine its energy, the light of Roussillon illuminates but does not burn\". Today they make the wines on their farm near Latour-de-France, where they also keep their beloved horses.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
