The 35-year-old vines are mostly surrounded by old shrubs. The soils of calcareous marl and light clay are ideal for Chardonnay. The harvest took place from 23 to 24 September 2021. The Chardonnay was pressed from whole clusters and fermented spontaneously. It then matured for over 17 months in barrels and in <em>Pi\u00e8ces<\/em> of 228 litres. Malolactic fermentation followed. The total sulphur is 31 mg\/l, the pH value is 3.21.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h4>Colour<\/h4>\n<div>\n<p>Medium yellow<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h4>Nose<\/h4>\n<div>\n<p>The <em>2021 La Bonnode <\/em>offers the clarity, brightness and citrus freshness typical of the vintage at La Soufrandi\u00e8re, which has rarely been achieved in M\u00e2con in recent years. The nose is elegant with a successful blend of lemons and oranges including their peels, spring meadow flowers and some verbena. There are also slightly chalky notes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h4>Palate<\/h4>\n<div>\n<p>Exercises on the palate <em>La Bonnode<\/em> The wine exudes a lot of pressure right from the start. This is ensured by the virile acidity, which is supported by a clear minerality. The wine seems vibrant, juicy and bright, fresh and clear, even prancing with a mixture of yellow stone fruit, crisp peaches and lots of ripe citrus fruit. In the finish, a striking saltiness clothes the spicy, even sharp yet pleasant citrus notes on the palate.
