Wine profile
\nIn the picturesque valley of the Lirac appellation rise the seven hectares of Lorentine, almost equally planted with Grenache, Mourv\u00e8dre and Syrah. The calcareous soil is interwoven with erosions of red clay, gravel, sand and rolling pebbles. After the land was taken over in 2003, it took several years of detailed adjustments before the terroir manifested itself perceptibly in the wines. At present, however, it is clearly recognisable. On this vineyard, as on all the family's properties, the work is organic and biodynamic, and the grapes are harvested by hand. The selected grapes are destemmed and begin to ferment with their own yeasts under temperature control. Maturation takes place in concrete tanks and barrels.<\/p>\n

\nThe colour is reminiscent of a dense black-red, interspersed with violet reflections.<\/p>\n
Aroma
\nOn the nose, the 2020 La Lorentine from Lirac reveals notes of sweet berries, plum jam, blueberries and elegant cocoa. A lush blend of herbs such as tarragon, wild mint, lavender, roses and hints of fennel and aniseed bring out an invigorating freshness. An extremely complex and multi-faceted wine full of exciting surprises.<\/p>\n
Taste
\nIt is impressive how harmonious and fresh wines with such tension and dynamism can appear, despite higher alcohol content. Numbers are unimportant compared to the actual tasting of such excellent drops. A wine that glides smoothly over the tongue and harmonises perfectly with an expressive and concentrated menu. <\/p>\n
