The vineyard was already mentioned in the 15th century, and it has been highly appreciated since then. Like the other vineyards, Le Mont, with its nine hectares, is the sole property of the Huet estate and was acquired by Gaston Huet in 1957 as the last of the three vineyards. It has a topsoil several metres deep with a pebbly flint, some of it the size of a fist, which is there <em>Perron<\/em> and deep green clay. The base is the usual Turonian tuff limestone.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h4>Colour<\/h4>\n<div>\n<p>medium straw yellow<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h4>Nose<\/h4>\n<div>\n<p>The <em>2021s<\/em> is a vintage in which a fine florality and fragrance mix with the typical, almost mysterious smokiness that comes from the tuff and quartz of Le Mont. The <em>Le<\/em> <em>Mont<\/em> is always the longest withdrawn wine, which at first seems shy and needs time. With air, it becomes brighter and clearer, but retains the fine flinty scent that mixes with violet, stone, apple, quince and pineapple<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h4>Palate<\/h4>\n<div>\n<p>The <em>2021 Le Mont sec<\/em> is a sublime wine on the palate, a juicy and mouth-filling Chenin from the start, deep and complex, clear and graceful. Combining apple, pear, some cider, smoke and spices, this is a seductive Chenin Blanc with unagitated precision and clarity, a fine tannin and a silky texture. Here, the focus is neither on reduction nor oxidation, but rather on the <em>Le Mont<\/em> is to a great extent a terroir mediator and a great seducer with fine saltiness, tension, depth and length -
