The majestic 2006 Riesling Schlossberg Sélection de Grains Nobles floats perceptibly in space - a first impression of its lightness is already noticeable in the nose. The terroir of the Schlossberg provides a room-filling minerality through which a complex mosaic of aromas meanders. Complementing these are subtle traces of sweet honey, fragrant elderflower and refreshing lemongrass.

Taste

Despite its sweetness and intensity, the 2006 Riesling Schlossberg Sélection de Grains Nobles moves feather-lightly and gracefully on the palate. A dancing interplay of sweetness, acidity and mineral balances ensures that this extraordinary and multi-layered sweet wine will captivate any lover of full-bodied and refined sweet wines.

Food pairings

Instead of shaved raw foie gras with sea salt and brioche, you could serve a velvet mushroom mousse with truffle oil and crostini. As a substitute for the terrine of citrus fruits in ginger jelly with Riesling sorbet, one could offer apple tarte tatin with Calvados cream. Instead of the quark soufflé with fresh strawberries, you could try lemon sorbet with berry compote.
