Thus, already in the fragrance of the 2015s Pettenthal Selection clear that this is a very tightly knit Auslese, which will not explode in the fragrance but on the palate, and that too not primarily with the fruit but with other characteristics. Accordingly, there is a clear orientation to herbaceous-vegetable aromas, to stone, smoke, some fresh biscuit dough and a rounding off with discreet apple, lemons and nectarines.

Mouth

On the palate, the sweetness comes through - after all, it is an Auslese! But with Kai Schätzel, this sweetness and also the concentrated juicy fruit is in turn combined with piquant, almost cool-looking stony and herbaceous aspects as well as a slightly salty and penetrating acidity, which despite all the sweetness brings a lot of pressure to the palate and interweaves the ripe fruit. This wine from Nierstein's Pettenthal comes across as enormously fresh and vibrant, taut and firmly wrought from the moment you first feel it through to the long finish, and it has an inspiringly clear structure. This is a great wine with a long life.

Food recommendations by Christoph Raffelt

Crispy roasted saffron duck with apricot and date stuffing

Indian fish curry with garam masala, yellow lentils and lime

Yuzu cheesecake with crème caramel au beurre salé

🎨 Color: light golden yellow

👃 Aroma: Herbal-vegetable, stone, smoke, fresh sponge cake, subtle apple, lemons, nectarines

👅 Taste: Sweet and juicy fruit, savoury and almost cool stony and herbaceous aspects, slightly salty and penetrating acidity

🎭 Character: Fresh and lively, taut, firmly moulded, inspiringly clear structure

🍽️ Food recommendations: Crispy fried saffron duck, Indian fish curry, yuzu cheesecake with crème caramel au beurre salé

✨ Special features: Long-lasting finish, long life

[1590
3565,84,3114

0":"post-10191","1":"product","2":"type-product","3":"status-publish","4":"has-post-thumbnail","6":"product_brand-schaetzel","7":"product_cat-premiumweine","8":"product_cat-rheinhessen","9":"product_cat-schaetzel","10":"pa_farbe-weiss","11":"pa_inhalt-750ml","12":"pa_jahrgang-2411","13":"pa_restsuesse-edelsuess","14":"pa_sorte-riesling","15":"pa_typ-suesswein","16":"show-hover","18":"first","19":"outofstock","20":"taxable","21":"shipping-taxable","22":"purchasable","23":"product-type-simple

Schätzel - Riesling Pettenthal Auslese Grosse Lage 2015

<meta name="description" content="Riesling Pettenthal Auslese Grosse Lage 2015 – Schätzel aus Rheinhessen.
