Lake Neusiedl, Europe's westernmost steppe lake, acts as an important temperature regulator and moisturiser. Particularly noteworthy is the region's ability to bring both indigenous varieties such as Blaufr\u00e4nkisch and Zweigelt as well as international varieties such as Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon to full maturity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Die_biodynamische_Revolution\"><\/span>The biodynamic revolution<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A key element in the quality revolution in Burgenland is the growing focus on <strong>biodynamic and<\/strong> <strong>natural viticulture methods<\/strong>. These practices, which are based on the teachings of Rudolf Steiner, go far beyond organic cultivation. They view the vineyard as a holistic ecosystem and take cosmic rhythms into account when working in the vineyard and cellar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pioneers such as Gernot and Heike Heinrich and the Meinklang family have shown that biodynamic methods not only promote the health of the vines and biodiversity, but also result in wines of exceptional quality. <strong>Vitality and loyalty to the terroir<\/strong> can lead to. Als Sohn einer traditionsreichen Winzerfamilie in Deutsch-Sch\u00fctzen verbindet er gekonnt das Erbe seiner Vorfahren mit frischen Ideen. Sein Leitspruch \u201cUnser Fokus liegt ausschlie\u00dflich auf h\u00f6chster Qualit\u00e4t und einzigartigem Charakter\u201d spiegelt sich in jedem Aspekt seiner Arbeit wider.<br>Krutzler's wines are characterised by a remarkable balance between classic Blaufr\u00e4nkisch structure and modern interpretation. Since 2020, he has been experimenting with an exciting project focussing on the local grape varieties Blaufr\u00e4nkisch and Welschriesling. Their winery in Gols, on the eastern shore of Lake Neusiedl, produces an impressive range of wines - from fresh white wines to complex red wine cuv\u00e9es.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Particularly noteworthy is her <strong>\u00abPannobile\u00bb<\/strong> - a cuv\u00e9e of Blaufr\u00e4nkisch and Zweigelt, which can be considered the archetype of modern Burgenland red wine. The Heinrichs have also made a name for themselves with their <strong>\u00abFreyheit\u00bb series<\/strong> have caused a sensation - natural wines characterised by mash contact. Their farm includes not only vineyards, but also arable farming and livestock breeding, which makes for a <strong>closed operating cycle <\/strong>made possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meinklang's wines are often surprises for the classic wine lover. Her work with classic but also partly forgotten grape varieties such as Gr\u00fcner Veltliner, St. Laurent or even Blauer Portugieser results in wines of <strong>remarkable originality<\/strong>.
