{"id":136811,"date":"2023-08-20T07:16:40","date_gmt":"2023-08-20T07:16:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lebendigeweine.de\/?p=136811"},"modified":"2026-10-09T10:16:08","modified_gmt":"2026-10-09T10:16:08","slug":"rose-ein-versuch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lebendigeweine.de\/en\/journal\/rose-ein-versuch\/","title":{"rendered":"Ros\u00e9 \u2013 An Attempt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After the interesting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.faz.net\/aktuell\/stil\/essen-trinken\/getraenke\/rose-weine-im-test-19-empfehlungen-fuer-den-sommer-19014549.html\">Article in the FAZ am Sonntag<\/a>where many ros\u00e9s from <em>Living Wines<\/em> recommended, I thought I would also express my opinion on the subject of \"ros\u00e9 wines\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just a few days ago I served some of these \"divisive\" wines during a wine club and the ensuing discussion was really interesting. I provoked a little and asked our guests what they thought made a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lebendigeweine.de\/en\/typ\/rose\/\">Ros\u00e9 wine<\/a> constitutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It's interesting: the first approach was to define what it is not. It's not as fresh as a white wine, not as heavy as a red wine. Well, a good start.<br>Some suggested that they don't normally drink ros\u00e9 wine. Well, that is of course a matter of taste and a question of colour harmony.<br>A man told me that in France ros\u00e9 wines are often called \"vin du piscine\" and are drunk copiously with ice by the pool. After all the <em>White wine spritzers<\/em>that I have seen in recent years, nothing can really surprise me any more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I could quote a few more sentences, but the main point is already clear: ros\u00e9 wines are not wines to be taken seriously. They only gain some prestige for a few summer months, like a group of shooting stars in the firmament of \"real\" wines. I'm not the first to say this, but it seems we have to repeat it more often: It's not true! But colours already have their meanings. Ros\u00e9 (pink) is mainly associated with the feminine. Personally, I am against the use of \"feminine\" and \"masculine\" to define wines, but how many times have I heard that ros\u00e9 wines are most popular with women? Some wineries even emphasise this in their advertising. The wine world is not immune to patriarchy and all its stereotypes. If the wine is pink, it's a girl's wine. And if it's something for girls, it must be lighthearted, simple, easy(sensible), etc. It's time to put an end to these stereotypes. Both for women and for wines. Look into your glass and you will see a palette that ranges from pale pink to a delicate salmon tone to an intense, almost red colour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Duft\"><\/span>Scent<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you don't serve your ros\u00e9 ice cold or with ice cubes, you are likely to discover a wide variety of bouquets. Sometimes more subtle, sometimes very intense. The temperature changes while your wine is in the glass, and so do the aromas. Try to find the right temperature for your wine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Geschmack\"><\/span>Taste<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Similar to smell, the palate needs the right temperature to explore the full range of flavours in a glass of wine. And \"ice cold\" is not always the right one. I find it very interesting to analyse the texture, the consistency of the liquid. I've had some great surprises in that sense with ros\u00e9 wines. I have found myself in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lebendigeweine.de\/en\/les-vignes-metissees-cotes-catalanes-rose-igp-2022-roc-des-anges\/\">Les Vignes M\u00e9tiss\u00e9s by Roc des Anges<\/a> mainly because of its wonderfully delicate, silky texture, to name just one example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Technisches\"><\/span>Technical<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you press any grape, the juice will be white. The colour comes from the time it spends in contact with the grape skins. Press a white grape and immediately remove the skins: you have a white wine. Do it again, but leave the skins in contact for a few days or even months: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lebendigeweine.de\/en\/typ\/orange-wein\/\">Orange-Wine<\/a>. Now take your red grape, press it and take away the skins: white wine again! (In Champagne they would call it Blanc de Noirs). Leave the red skins there for a few days: red wine. Now try to be quicker and leave the juice extracted from red grapes in contact with the skins for only a few hours: <strong>finally your ros\u00e9 wine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Pinot Noir you love so much when used for some top Burgundies can also be used for some ros\u00e9s. And there are winemakers who take this process very seriously. There is a world to discover without prejudice. Let us begin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Chateau_de_Pibarnon_Rose_AOC_2022\"><\/span>Ch\u00e2teau de Pibarnon Ros\u00e9 AOC 2022<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lebendigeweine.de\/en\/chateau-de-pibarnon-rose-aoc-2025-chateau-de-pibarnon\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lebendigeweine.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/chateau-de-pibarnon-chateau-de-pibarnon-rose-aoc-2025_1_square_8fad78b4.png\" alt=\"Ch\u00e2teau de Pibarnon Ros\u00e9 AOC 2025\" class=\"wp-image-132629\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lebendigeweine.de\/en\/chateau-de-pibarnon-rose-aoc-2025-chateau-de-pibarnon\/\">Ch\u00e2teau de Pibarnon Ros\u00e9 2025<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The wine-growing region of Bandol, where Ch\u00e2teau de Pibarnon is located, is the ros\u00e9 region par excellence. Bandol is one of the villages on the French Riviera, in Provence. The Mediterranean climate guarantees warm growing conditions for the grapes, while the mountains serve as protection from the cold winds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This blend of Mourv\u00e8dre and Cinsault immediately reveals all its power already on the nose. Ripe stone fruits, pear and lemon zest are brought together by some creamy, almost sweet notes of vanilla and spices. The creamy, juicy feel continues on the palate as tannins and spices dance on the tongue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a complex, serious wine. Its long finish will put you in a peaceful meditative state while you smile at the horizon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Cirelli_Vino_Frizzante_Rosato\"><\/span>Cirelli<br>Vino Frizzante Rosato<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lebendigeweine.de\/en\/vino-frizzante-rosato-nv-cirelli\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lebendigeweine.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/03\/cirelli-vino-frizzante-rosato_1_square_f180aff7.png\" alt=\"Cirelli Vino Frizzante Rosato\" class=\"wp-image-135418\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lebendigeweine.de\/en\/vino-frizzante-rosato-nv-cirelli\/\">Vino Frizzante Rosato<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Aus den Abruzzen kommt mit Cirellis Vino Frizzante Rosato ein biodynamisch erzeugter Perlwein, der genau diese unbeschwerte Geselligkeit verk\u00f6rpert. Zwiebelschalenfarben schimmernd, duftet er nach Wildbl\u00fcten und frischen Himbeeren; seine zarte Perlage macht ihn zu einem Wein, den man \u00f6ffnet, wenn getanzt statt analysiert werden soll.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The colour is an intense pink\/light red, with silky cloudiness that shows its unfiltered nature. The foam is generous and loud. The first nose brings hints of hay, followed by a rich bouquet of flowers, green apples and a fresh alpine breeze that constantly swirls the aromas. In the mouth, it is generous and fresh, moving between the crispness of the green apple and the juicy lushness of the strawberries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Attention! The bottle will empty quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"I_Vigneri_di_Salvo_Foti_Vinudilice_Rosato_2021\"><\/span>I Vigneri di Salvo Foti <br>Vinudilice Rosato 2021<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lebendigeweine.de\/en\/vinudilice-rosato-2021-i-vigneri-di-salvo-foti\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"380\" height=\"650\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lebendigeweine.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/I-Vigneri-di-Salvo-Foti-Vinudilice-Rosato-2021-xii.webp\" alt=\"Vinudilice Rosato 2021\" class=\"wp-image-134431\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lebendigeweine.de\/en\/vinudilice-rosato-2021-i-vigneri-di-salvo-foti\/\">Vinudilice Etna Rosato<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Salvo Foti bedarf eigentlich keiner Vorstellung. Er ist einer der Protagonisten der Renaissance des sizilianischen Weins, insbesondere am \u00c4tna. Dieser Ros\u00e9 best\u00e4tigt die Verbindung zur Tradition und dem Land, die f\u00fcr sein Projekt \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lebendigeweine.de\/en\/i-vigneri-di-salvo-foti\/\">I Vigneri<\/a>\u201d typisch sind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The wine is a blend of at least 10 different grapes, red and white, all growing together and harvested and pressed together. This mixed harvest was common in several areas of Italy in the past.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The colour is salmon pink, with shiny crystalline reflections. The nose is an endless journey between black cherries, wild berries, oranges, aromatic herbs, spices and the seductive minerality that only the volcanic soil can provide. The palate is fresh, precise and clear. Perfectly integrated acidity and a lovely saltiness form the lively backbone of this wine.
