Wine information
The Silvan grapes come from the Escherndorfer Lump. They were allowed to macerate overnight after the harvest. After pressing, the wine was fermented spontaneously, partly in new French or German oak barriques. The wine underwent biological acid degradation and matured on the fine lees for twelve months.
Color
medium straw yellow
Nose
The Escherndorf Lump opens with a discreet herbaceousness, some blond tobacco and slightly vegetal notes. In addition, there is some yeast, a ripe lemon and yellow pome and stone fruit. Overall, the fragrance is fine, rather shy and elegant than expressive.
Palate
On the palate, it becomes full-bodied and juicy, but remains elegant. You can feel the ripeness of the fruit here, but also the right harvest time, which was not so easy to find in the Lump, which is now getting warmer and drier. Here, however, juicy white and yellow fleshed peaches, oranges and a few white and red berries meet with a lot of herbal and rock spice, again a little tobacco and earth. The extended maceration time provides extract and a firm grip on the palate. The wine is intense, long and silky.
