Wine information
The White wine cuvée 1845 consists of Bacchus, Scheurebe, Traminer and Riesling from sites around Kitzingen. Half of the grapes were fermented spontaneously after standing for two days. Another part was fermented in used French barriques, and a final batch went through biological acid reduction and then spent a long time on the full lees.
Color
pale straw yellow
Nose
The 1845 is a wine that one immediately notices the use of aromatic grape varieties. It smells of cassis, nutmeg, roses and lilac, of grapefruit, candied ginger and apricots. In addition, there is a slightly smoky and also stony note. It is an expressive wine that makes you want to take the first sip.
Palate
On the palate, the varieties provide plenty of fruit and spice, the extended maceration time provides grip as well as extract, and the partial ageing in wood provides structure and fine creaminess. On the one hand, this is an uncomplicated white wine based on expressive aromas, but on the other hand, it has a substance that goes far beyond a normal Summer Quencher and its tart, spicy notes add an extra dimension to the fruit game.
