Wine information
Heinz Velich lets the Welschriesling mature for a long time, harvesting it to the point to support its fine aroma and retain the acidity. Then, after a certain maceration period, it is spontaneously fermented as well as fully fermented and matured on its lees in stainless steel.
Color
intense straw yellow
Nose
Heinz Velichs 2021 Welschriesling is a rather piquant, slightly tart wine that knows how to inspire with its texture. The aroma is rather discreet with notes of lily of the valley, herbs, some hay and lemon.
Palate
On the palate, the 2021 Welschriesling of Gutedel, Neuburger or Muscadet from very good winemakers who bring out the texture and structure of a wine and not the fruit. Such a winemaker is, of course, Heinz Velich, which is why his Welschriesling stands out for its straightforward acid arc, its tart spicy notes, but above all for its extract and light phenolic, as well as a mixture of herbs and salt. Reminiscent of olives stuffed with almonds in brine. Impressive!
