Color:
The wine shows itself in bright lemon yellow with silvery reflexes clear and shining in the glass.
Nose:
Carried by delicate yellow-fleshed fruit, this thoroughly typical Pinot Blanc is initially subtle and filled with floral lightness. The juicy flesh of a fresh pineapple and white peach bathe full of delight in Greek yogurt, which is distracted from its lactic character and refreshed by lemon zest and mint. This is joined by faint hints of candied anise seeds, hay flowers and chamomile.
Palate:
The 2018 Pinot Blanc from Battenfeld Spanier convinces on the palate with finely balanced power and elegance. Lively tickling acidity refreshes its mouth-filling defined body. Thanks to a finely balanced and delicate bitterness, it has a densely woven structure that plays to its spicy, stony finish as a supporting element and skillfully supports the wine's stimulating length.
Food recommendations by Peter Müller:
- Barley risotto with zucchini and nasturtium (vegetarian)
(Vegetables & Vegetarian, Cereals, Cucurbits)
- Saddle of rabbit with white beans, black sesame and lime oil
(Vegetable & Vegetarian, Game, Rabbit)
- Dorade with romaine lettuce, green olives and corn
(fish, gilthead)
